Die Google Android platform

Google küngigt die Handy-Software Android an, damit bestätigen sich die Gerüchte um das Google Phone. (nicht aber gPhone)

Bei Google arbeitet man offenbar mit Hochdruck an Mobilfunkplänen um Apples iPhone ein Pendant zu bieten.

Die Java Applikation Android ist das von Google entwickelte Linux-basierte mobile OS. Es soll open source sein und an die Handy Hersteller umsonst vergeben werden.

Bestätigte Partner sind Motorola, HTC, Samsung und LG, Google selbst will keine Hardware entwickeln.

Es wurde von Google mitgeteilt (CEO Eric Schmidt auf einer Pressekonferenz), dass T-Mobile and Sprint in den USA, T-Mobile/Deutsche Telekom in Europa und China Mobile in China teilhaben an der so genannten Open Handset Alliance.
