Picasa 3.5 mit Namen von people, places und tags verschieben

Picasa 3.5 hat ja das tolle feature der Gesichtserkennung (people) und Geotagging (Places) eingebaut.
Mit viel Arbeit vergibt man den erkannten gesichtern Namen und den Bildern einen Geo Tag. Diese Daten werden einerseits in den Bilderverzeichnissen und auch in einer Datenbank gespeichert.

Um von Windows XP auf Windows 7 umzusteigen hatte ich die Verzeichnisse mit der jeweiligen .picasa.ini komplett auf eine neue Festplatte kopiert.

Nach der erneuten Installation von Google Picasa 3.5 (noch die englische Version) unter Windows 7 war der Schreck gross, als Picasa die zugeordneten Namen und Geo Locations offensichtlich vergessen hatte!

Die Lösung fand ich irgendwo im WWW:

Picasa braucht die alte Datenbank ais dem alten user Verzeichnis db3, bei mir auf Windows XP hier:

Drive:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\User\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Google\Picasa2\db3
(/Users/%USERNAME%/AppData/Local/Google/Picasa2/db3)

Dieses komplette Verzeichnis habe ich nun zu Windows 7 in das entsprechende Verzeichnis:

Drive:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Picasa2\db3

kopiert, nachdem ich das dort schon vorhandene db3 Verzeichnis in ‘db3 not working’ umbenannt hatte.

Kurzerhand Picasa unter Windows 7 neu gestartet und siehe da, alle ‘Tags’, ‘People’ und ‘Places’ waren wieder richtig zugeordnet vorhanden.
