Hi there,
Here is my issue. When I type my [url="http://www.maaximumseduction.com"]domain name[/url] with the www, Google displays site links under my home page’s url in the Search Engine Results Page. However when I type my domain name without the www, Google doesn’t generate and display site links. Here is what I was told to do.
1. Log into Google Webmaster Tools
2. Add a second domain name being mydomainname.com without the www
3. Make it the preferred domain name
4. At the Apache server end, do a 301 redirect
Here is the issue. Google has no problem crawling my site using www, but when I tell it to crawl my site using the non www version of my domain name it says, can’t connect to it.
I did have an .htaccess file that had a redirect to another DNS server which I removed, which I thought was the issue, yet I am getting the same error.
I am using WordPress and my blog address is http://www.mydomain.com
Should I make that mydomain.com . Is that the issue?
