Just updating the second site to WordPress 3.4 I realize again this loop:
After login via wp-login.php you get the message:
Database Update Required
WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.
Click ‚Update WordPress Database‘ Button and you will come to a screen:
Update Complete
Your WordPress database has been successfully updated!
Click ‚Continue‘ and AGAIN you come to:
Database Update Required
Best is to use wp-login.php now to come to your WordPress 3.4 Dashboard.
By the way, on updating I rename old wp-admin and wp-includes folders to upload these fresh via ftp.
The root files I just overwrite. This update has however no wp-pass.php and no wp-register.php included, so I deleted them on the serverside too.
