Hi so my site is located here
I am using the theme "Boldly" and here is what I am trying to do
As you can see the 3 "Feature boxes" . I only want a portion of the post or my excerpt to go there, instead the full post shows there.
I know that I can vary between showing the content and the post in index.php
by <php the excerpt> or <php the content>
Now this theme doesn’t use posts but pages.
So what you see on the front text boxes is actual page content.
I would like to only show a small portion of it and then the full version when people click through the "Read more" link.
I tried implementing the "Read more" tag but I believe that only works for posts.
Wondering what I can do to only show a fixed length of words instead of the entire page content.
What I did do is create a separate page for the actual full content and then a page fofr the front page text boxes which is what you see. I can name them both the same as long as they have different page id’s.
But I want to know how to use the conventional way of cutting my front page content into a smaller excerpt type of paragraph or line with a read more link.
My second question is, I want to have the ability to control what language my dashboard is in(So I downloaded Native Dashboard, a language translation plug in". I also installed a classified ads plug in called AWPCP-Another WordPress Classified Plug in and want the front end to be in Spanish.
I downloaded the es_ES.mp and es_ES.po files and uploaded them to the languages sub folder in wp-content but when I switch my Dashboard to Spanish
I get this error message

Now on the AWPCP site, it says to do this to translated the plug in’s front end to another language

the feature boxes: I understand the theme setup like this:there are three boxes with title, image and some text - you make extra pages for that and set them in theme options.from this pages you link to the full text…

Thanks your suggestions worked perfectly.The home page issue was because I temporarily disabled custom permalinks. Once enabled my home page is now going to my home page, index.php Omar Weiterlesen →
