Starting june 2013 I migrated this forum to a new platform.
For years the forum was running on bbPress 1.1, now I use here phpBB 3.0.11
While bbPress stand alone forum software is not updated anymore, I find a huge community supporting phpBB3
Over the years I tried to migrate to the current bbPress integrated into WordPress, it didn’t come out as I liked.
Vanilla was also a test platform, but the converters didn’t work well.
Converting bbPress 1.1 to phpBB3 worked quite well, with tables of both platforms in one database and running a bbPress to phpBB3 – SQL converter
The drawback: with phpBB I got new links for all topics and lost the old ones .. 
So, coming here you might have to search a bit.
